On a gorgeous, sunny day with endless clear blue skies, a few close friends and I made our way down to the Gold Coast to try out a restaurant we’d heard nothing but rave reviews on.

Welcome to Mandala Organic Arts Cafe!

Upon arrival, we walked around to the side entrance and into a small grassy courtyard, lined with large palms and vegetable/herb gardens, decked out with wooden tables and chairs, the sun beaming down on a particularly warm winters day (up in the high 20’s!).

The hardest part for all of us, was choosing something to eat. We browsed the menu for at least 20 minutes before we all eenie-meenie-minie-mo’d our way down to our final selections – nobody wanted to end up with food envy after all.

Being a coeliac and (new) vegetarian myself, I was ecstatic to find a new eatery that catered for people like me! The options in Brisbane are few and far in between (although this is expanding slowly each day) and being a massive lover of food, it’s great to be able to go out and try something new.

Drinking out of fresh coconuts, enjoying an organic fair trade coffee or two and sharing around the incredible food – the perfect recipe for a stand out afternoon!

The girls and I are already planning to go back – with local art, live music and an incredible selection of vegan, gluten free, organic dishes, what’s not to love? You could spend hours here in good company, and completely lose track of time in this little piece of food lovers paradise.

Thank you so much for having us Mandala Organic Arts! With such a warm, friendly welcome we can’t wait to see you again.
