The end of August meant it was time for my employers annual conference and awards night, and with everybody having been buzzing about the event for months it was finally here!
Being part of a company that prides itself as being first class in it’s field, it was only natural that our conference was in such a setting, and no other name says first class quite like Versace.
Upon arriving at the impressive Palazzo Versace, you immediately feel like a VIP. The front entrance scoops along the front of the hotel, with luxury vehicles and palm trees dotted across the courtyard and staff ready to greet and assist you. The main lobby makes for a grand entrance, with large windows all around, allowing light to pour inside, dancing off the incredible chandelier that hangs from the ceiling, illuminating everything that is marble and gold. We arrived a little too early to check in, however the staff graciously took care of our luggage so that we could make our way through to our conference registration.
The facilities made available to us for our conference were outstanding, and staff went out of their way to assist us and make sure we were relaxed, happy and able to take the time to appreciate our schedule for the day. Nothing was an imposition and everything was taken care of for us.
When it was time to check in, the girls and I were ecstatic to find out we had been upgraded to a Lagoon Suite – having been patient for a late check in, we knew this was well worth the wait.
I wish I could let these photos do the talking, but they don’t come close to doing this room justice. The trademark Versace gold, along with pops of vibrant colour, plush robes, a walk in robe, two balconies overlooking the lagoon pool, an enormous marble bathroom (complete with spa bath), not to mention the enormous, cloud-like king bed – we were pinching ourselves in case we woke up elsewhere.
That night it was our awards dinner and ball – this is when the glamor and luxury that is Versace really came alive. The lobby was now dimly lit creating a dark, romantic atmosphere. We walked out to the poolside area, where the pool was illuminated a translucent blue, lights shone up the walls highlighting the hotels exterior, and cocktail staff donning bow ties served champagne and signature cocktails to a now rather glamorous crowd.
After a few drinks, photographs and time to catch up on the day with our colleagues, we were escorted through to the functions room. Over the short time between our last speaker for the day and cocktail hour, the room had been completely transformed – large candelabras towered in the middle of every table, gorgeous bouquets of flowers surrounded the room and polished dinnerware was set ready for our three course meal. Not long after being seated the drinks started to flow, the awards kicked off and we applauded, laughed and celebrated over the course of dinner, ending the night on the dance floor (like all good nights should).
Only being a short day and a half stay, it was so hard to say goodbye – the stunning hotel, gorgeous grounds and stand out service from the wonderful staff of Palazzo Versace all made our time there unforgettable!
