Christian and I were incredibly happy to be able to plan our trip from Cerbere to Paris via Lyon, which is widely know for it’s culinary offerings (often regarded as ‘the food capital of the world’). We stopped very briefly here for a late lunch, to refuel and stretch our legs before the last half of our drive – it was just what we needed! I had done a little research and found out the best street to go to for delicious, authentic food – one that was also popular with the locals (not so much of a tourist trap). We wandered along the cobblestone street of Rue Mercière, and came across a little place we simply couldn’t walk past – Café Milano. No, it wasn’t traditional French cuisine (French food wasn’t even on the menu) but it WAS delicious!
I loved the quirky set up and installations, and the cool atmosphere it had. We sat back enjoying a glass of wine each and ate far too much of the absolute best focaccia we’ve ever had! Can’t wait until we make it back and are able to spend more time in this delicious city.
Cool pics! Looks like you had a great time. I still haven’t been to Lyon. Maybe I’ll squeeze it in on my next trip to France.
It’s definitely worth a visit – I can’t wait to go back and see more of it!
